When you bought your new iPhone, you knew you could do a lot with it. But how many of you are actually taking advantage of all of the features that your iPhone offers? Yes, you can make a phone call, serve on the web, watch a movie, and listen to music with the touch of a button, but is that all there is to it?

Here are 6 tips for better use your iphone’s features:

1. Your iPhone can be used as a storage device

That’s right, besides just using it to store your songs, you can actually use your iPhone as a driver. Now, you can do this straight out of the box but there is software available that allows you to do this. The software runs for about $10 and your computer. The application is called iPhone drive. It is a small utility from a company called Ecamm Network. What the software does is displays the free storage area of an iPhone. The software is simple to use basically it is drag and drop. It is important to note that music files and photo files are not supported with this application. But it is great for the use of mass data storage.

2. Rebooting your iPhone

Have you had the experience yet where your iPhone freezes? basically, your iPhone is not responding to anything. Even when you try pushing the Home button your phone does nothing. What do you do? the first tip in this situation is to hold the on off button for 60 seconds. Your iPhone will try to quit the last application and free up the system. If that doesn’t work, trying pressing and holding both Home and On/Off; after about 10 seconds the Apple logo will appear. You should be good to go from here.

3. Free up space by eliminating previously viewed videos

It doesn’t really matter whether you have an 8 GB or a 16 GB iPhone the bottom line is it takes about 1 GB of storage to hold one movie. Now, that is a lot of space for just one piece of media. One of the neat things you can do with your iPhone is delete videos after you’ve finished watching them. All you have to do is tap a button and the last movie you just watched it will disappear off of your iPhone. It is as simple as that.

After you finish watching a movie, the iPhone will ask if you want to free up space by deleting it.

4. Create a home page in Safari

On your computer or laptop, it is easy to set your homepage with your Safari browser. All you have to do is go to the settings. You go to the General tab in preferences and type in the URL that you want and that’s it. Problem is you can’t do that with your iPhone. There is, however, a work around. If you place the URL that you want to be your home page in your bookmarks list then move it to the top of your list you can simulate your home page. Now, this is technically not a homepage preference, it does take an extra tap, but it still helps to streamline and make things more efficient.

5. Use the Favorites and Recents list for more than just phone calls

Now, the favorites setting is a collection of your most frequently called phone numbers, while the recent list is a collection of people who just called or whose calls you have missed. Now, there is more to those two features. Assuming that the phone numbers in the list came from a mobile phone, you can actually use the feature to text message. Just tap the forward arrow button next to the contact name or phone number and then tap the text message button at the bottom of the contact listing.

6. Save e-mail messages as drafts

If you want to save a message you’re working on so you can come back to it later, tap Cancel. When you Cancel the iPhone will not automatically deleted. It will ask you if you want to save, send, or cancel. Tap Save and the message is placed in your Drafts folder. If your account doesn’t currently have a Drafts folder, Mail will create one. Sometimes there is a delay in getting your drafts folder to show up. Just give your iPhone a few extra seconds and the folder will pop up.

Put these 6 tips to use and start taking advantage of all of the different features that you got when you bought your iPhone.

Are you looking for free downloads for your iPhone? If so, there are a few things to look for before downloading from any website that claims to have what you are looking for for free.

If you don’t already know, there are a few ways to get unlimited iphone downloads without purchasing them through iTunes. Below you will find 7 tips to finding the best iPhone download site.

1. What Is The Difference Between Free or Paid Sites?

There are problems with free music download services such as Limewire. These downloads can be infected with viruses. Truth be told, this happened to me twice – and the first time it happened, I ended up losing all of my files as a virus destroyed everything. Not only are these downloads illegal, you never know what you are actually going to get.

There is nothing wrong with wanting to get free downloads – after all, iTunes can get expensive at $.99 per song. Want 100 songs through iTunes? That will cost you $99.00. Screw that!

Luckily, there are legitimate iPhone download sites that offer a lifetime membership for a one time fee, usually less than $50.00. With that one-time fee, you’ll get a lifetime supply of legal downloads and you will not have to worry about viruses.

2. Look For An iPhone Download Site With A Gigantic Media Database

You know what kind of music you like. Go with a download site that offers multiple genres of music. There are a handful of sites that offer well over 100 million media files which include all the music you would ever want, TV shows, movies, and more.

3. You Will Want A Good Downloading Interface

This is pretty important. You’ll want something that is easy to navigate and simple to use. This will make it easy to search for what you want and keep your downloads organized. You can get an idea of what to expect by looking at the homepage of the iPhone download site that you are looking at. Does it look professional, or just thrown together?

4. Only Sign Up With A Service That Provides Free Transfer And Conversion Software

The high quality, professional download sites provide you with everything you need to not only download everything from music to movies, but include software to transfer these files to your iPhone without using iTunes. They will even give you free software to convert files to work on your iPhone. FOr example, if you rip a DVD from your collection, you can use the free conversion software to make it into a compatible format so you can watch it on your iPhone.

5. Look For Super Fast Download Speeds

This is also very important. You want fast downloads. Most music files are about 4 MB’s each. With a fast download service, you can download 30 songs at the same time and be finished in about 10 minutes. The download site I use I can download a 400 MB TV show in about 15 minutes.

6. Look For A Secure Downloading Experience

Only the good iPhone download sites provide you with a safe, secure environment with a high level of security when downloading your media. The last thing you should have to worry about is viruses, spyware, and other stuff that can do harm to both your computer and your iPhone.

7. Only Professional Sites Offer 24/7 Technical Support

Most downloading sites only want to make money. While they might claim to offer 24/7 support to make them look good, you’ll be left alone when you actually need it. Luckily, there are a handful of services that offer dedicated support when you need them.

With a good high quality iPhone download site, you can fill up your iPhone many times over with safe, legal music, movies, TV shows and more. You can’t go wrong – and you can say goodbye to iTunes forever!

In today’s world iPhone is one of the valuable and very useful and necessary item for everyone. As you all know 3G iPhone is out with a package full of features. Here are important tips for new 3G iPhone.

1. Tapping the iPhone Screen:
Double tap on the iPhone screen is pretty convenient for zooming in and zooming out images and text at a go. Most of us never cared to experiment or were too comfortable with the pinching in or out to do the same. Double tapping works equally well.

This is really cool if you want to view photos on the iPhone’s photo app, you can toggle between full screen mode and letterbox mode, just double tapping on the screen during video playback. Browsing is much more fun too as you can zoom in and zoom out the content with this double tapping trick.

2. How to reset iPhone, when it crashes:
Two options exist for resetting your iPhone:

a) Hold down the Home button for 5-6 seconds to force quit a crashed application.

b) Force a full shut down of your iPhone by holding down the Home and Sleep/Wake button.

If that doesn’t work, you’ll need to contact Apple or visit your local Apple dealer / Operator store

3. Want to save battery? Turn off your LCD:
To change the brightness of your iPhone LCD screen, go to Settings -> Brightness. Try running at 10 to 20% brightness as a good compromise between brightness and battery life.

4. Capture an image out of iphone screen:
Hold down the Home button with one hand and then press the Sleep/Wake button with the other. The iPhone will snap a picture of the screen and save it in your Camera Roll.
Then go and check Photos > Camera Roll.

5. Do you use location services? If not, turn them off:
Speed up your iPhone and conserve battery life if you don’t use Google Maps. To disable location services go to Settings > General > Location Services.

6. Want to delete email wit a quick swipe?
By swiping an email from left to right you will quickly delete that email message. Nice and quick hey? Use this to keep your inbox under control as most people do not.

7. Can I use other apps while on call?
You can access your iPhone’s main screen, and thus all of its applications, whilst on a call by pressing the Home button during a phone call to minimise the call screen. Tap the green bar at the top of the Home screen to return to your call.

8. Ever thought of disabling your 3g on your iphone?
This might sound strange but unless you need the speed of browsing the internet at 3G speeds instead of WiFi you can double your talk time from 5 hours to a whooping 10 hours!

To disable your 3G do the following:

a) Click on the Settings gear icon

b) Click on General

c) Click on Network

d) Slide the Enable 3G to OFF

9. Want to rearrange application icons?
To move an application icon, hold your finger down on an icon. The icons will then enter a ‘wiggle mode’, meaning that they’ll start to wiggle (you’ll see what I mean). Once they are wiggling, you will be able to drag them around or move them to another home screen page.

10. Don’t visit Flash website – Not working
No, there is nothing wrong with your phone. Unfortunately it seems that Apple’s iPhone still doesn’t support Adobe Flash, so you won’t be able to access these sites.
Best thing to do is make sure you let Apple know that you want an Adobe Flash plugin for the iPhone, so they actually get their act together and make it happen.
